Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy”) is part of the Overarching User Agreement which also comprises our Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Community Agreement (“Community”). It’s designed to make sure you know what information we collect about you, how we use it, and when we share it.

Information Collection

We collect various types of information, including:

  • User Information: Information submitted during the use of the Services, such as your name, username, profile photo, phone number, and any other data entered directly or indirectly during use. This license is meant for use within the scope of providing and improving the Services.

  • Phone and Technical Information: Information like OS version, phone model, device identifiers, pages and content viewed, and any other data directly or indirectly linked during use.

  • Shared Contact Information: Information provided to help find your friends, family, and other contacts in the app. This includes, but is not limited to, contact names, phone numbers, and other identifiable information.

  • Interaction Data: Data such as friends, number of friends, comments, likes, and all other metrics and information required for the Services to operate as intended.

  • Image Data: When you upload images, we collect and may retain metadata associated with those images, including but not limited to location data, date/time, and device information. You can remove metadata from images before uploading through your device settings.

  • Other Data: Information that may not be explicitly collected but may still be stored, including data automatically associated with photos, inferred contact relationship status to users, content preferences, and other similar types of information.

Use of Information

Information collected is intended to do things like benefit overall user experience, research trends, identify bugs, and understand our users among other things. Dibil does not sell this information. Dibil does not actively collect biometric data. We may use automated systems and machine learning to analyze images and content for moderation purposes, improve our Services, and enhance user experience.

Sharing Information

To bring you Dibil, we work with partners who provide us with various services, including:

  • Technical and hosting support

  • Sending notifications

  • Publishing and sharing content

  • User analytics and satisfaction surveys

  • Management of security incidents or fraudulent activity

In working with those partners, we may share your information with them to bring you our Services. Authorized Dibil employees may also have access to your information to provide you support or deliver our Services.

Visibility of Activity

Please note that any activity posted when using the Services may be visible to other users. For example, having a private profile does not mean that another user will not see that you have liked their post.

Legal and Emergency Situations

In an emergency or through proper law enforcement channels or procedures, we may share your data with external parties.

Data Storage Location

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States. By using our Services, you consent to the transfer and storage of your information within the United States.

Deleting Your Account

Users can delete their account in the profile settings section of the application. If you choose this option, your account and its associated information will be permanently deleted. This process may take up to a week. Some information will not be deleted where we may have a valid legal request from law enforcement which requires us to preserve your information (e.g., subpoenas, warrants).

Information Rights

To control the information for your user profile, you can:

  • Delete your account through the application settings or by contacting support@dibil.co

  • Correct your information using the controls in the application

  • Ask a question about our privacy practices by contacting support@dibil.co

  • Contact our Office of Data Protection by contacting support@dibil.co

Data for Users Under the Age of 13

Dibil will never knowingly or intentionally collect any personal data from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, you are not allowed to use Dibil or our Services. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. We employ measures to screen and prevent users under 13 from submitting personal information. If you are a parent or guardian with a child under the age of 13 who you believe has used the app, please contact us at support@dibil.co to request data deletion. 

Your California Privacy Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we collect about you.

  • Request deletion of your personal information.

  • Opt-out of the sale of your personal information (note: Dibil does not sell your data).

Updates to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal obligations. If we make significant changes, we will notify you in one or more of the following ways:

  • By posting the updated policy on our app and website.

  • By sending you an app notification.

If you do not agree with the updated Privacy Policy, you have the right to stop using our Services and delete your account. Continued use of the Services after the changes go into effect indicates your acceptance of the revised policy.
